Did you shop at the Wallace Art Club booth at the Wallace Fall Festival? If so, thank you for your support of two great causes. Wallace Art Club members Karlie Finley, Taelynn Wickizer, Emma Matson, Brenley Johnson, Angie Vazquez, and Ryun Sheets, created several items which were sold on Saturday, September 17th. These items ranged from customized doormats to class creations, including pottery and mixed media collages.
Proceeds from the Art Club sale will be used for two different purposes. According to Wallace Art teacher, Mrs. Melissa Nelms, the Art Club fundraisers help support all Wallace Art students through providing supplemental supplies above and beyond the art department budget. The Art Club activities also offer a creative outlet for our students.
The Art Club students also decided to make a $300 donation to Big Red Battlefield Boxes (https://www.facebook.com/bigredbattlefieldboxes). Art Club students wanted to support this project as part of the Fall Festival theme "Hometown Heroes". This local non-profit is headed by Jamie Einspahr, and their mission is to support our troops by sending care packages overseas. Items that are can be sent and are frequently requested include:
